GOD IS OUR ONLY HOPE!
Scripture Reading--2 Chronicles 14:11
"And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said,
Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them
that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee,
and in thy name we go against this multitude.
O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee"
( emphasis added ).
When folks say there's no hope for the family, they're forgetting that God is still God! When King Asa faced a humanly impossible situation, he knew there was hope as long as God was on His throne. God is greater than any situation we'll ever face.
Never forget, the family was God's idea. "And the Lord God said, It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him" ( Gen. 2:18 ). From the beginning, Satan has attacked the family because he knows it's near and dear to God's heart. If anyone wants you to think there's no hope for the family, it's Satan. When a family has trouble, Satan does whatever he can to make things look impossible. He wants husbands and wives to give up on each other. He encourages parents to think they're failures. He wants to destroy our hope, joy, and peace.
In Romans 15:13, the apostle Paul writes, "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost" ( emphasis added ). Herein is our hope--that God by His Spirit can fill our lives with hope because He's the God of hope. He's the God of the impossible! "With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible" ( Matt. 19:26b, emphasis added ). No situation lies beyond God's hope. Remember, when God's going to do something wonderful, He begins with a difficulty. When He's going to do something exceptionally wonderful, He begins with an impossibility!
BELIEVING PRAYER: Consider a family situation that appears hopeless. Pray and trust God to work a miracle in that situation.
