ANSWERS PRAYER!
Scripture Reading: Jeremiah 33:3
"Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty
things, which thou knowest not" ( emphasis added ).
We must never forget that as long as God still answers prayer, there's hope for the family. In fact, prayer is one of the greatest needs of the family. Many Christian families are struggling with major issues. Marriages are unstable. Children are rebellious. Finances are tight. Parents are neglectful. Families face conflicts over decisions they must make. And in the midst of it all, God says, "Call unto me!" Why is it that the thing we need most is often the thing we neglect?
When we're on our knees before God in prayer, there's not a question that cannot be answered, a problem that cannot be solved, a need that cannot be met, a battle that cannot be won, an obstacle that cannot be overcome, a sin that cannot be forgiven, or a conflict that cannot be resolved. That's how powerful prayer is!
A poor widow lived in a city with her two children, one of whom was a cripple. One day the widow saw a sign for special meetings in a church nearby. She and her children decided to go and were wonderfully saved!
She and her children began praying every day about their needs. Finally, when they had nothing left to eat, she gathered her children for prayer and told God about their desperate condition. That day, a letter arrived from out of the country. The letter was from a friend of her late husband. The man had spent months trying to locate her.
Inside the envelope was a large amount of money. Her need was met! Was it coincidence that the money arrived that day? No, God honored their faith and prayers and provided when they needed it most.
